The Exfm Library Is Now Called Sites.
Change is hard.
We just rolled out a massive update to our platform. It’s infinitely improved in so many ways. The overwhelming response has been amazing and we are beyond grateful. However, some users aren’t so happy because to improve the performance of exfm we made difficult decisions on how to move forward. One of the biggest was a move away from what was known as the exfm “Library”. The Library is no more. It’s now called Sites. And, yes, it works differently.
No longer does exfm store every single mp3 you encounter for all-time. That put a tremendous strain on the extension and in many cases created a sub-par experience. In others a completely unusable one. We set out to remedy that and created Sites. This new section keeps a history of your last 1,000 songs. It’s crisp, fast, responsive and built on a foundation that will allow us to do some amazing things with it in the future. Still, some folks want more. They want their old libraries back. To be blunt it’s not going to happen. That will piss some people off. We understand and empathize with that. Some users may even decide to abandon our platform. We hope not and they give the new update some time.Rest assured we wrestled with this decision to reframe the Library experience. In the end we believe it’s the right decision and the vast majority of our loyal users and the thousands and thousands of new users will agree and support it. Our vision for exfm has always been to make it the absolute best platform available to discover and share new music. Version 3 is a huge step in that direction.
Thank you again for using exfm. We truly appreciate every single one of our users.
